What Teal Wheels does
Teal Wheels is a free, noncommercial digital bulletin board and community coordination tool. It helps sports fans connect for voluntary carpools, but it is not a transportation provider, rideshare company, taxi service, or common carrier. Teal Wheels does not provide transportation, employ or contract with drivers, or own, inspect, or maintain vehicles used by participants.
Teal Wheels does not charge for matching or process payments between drivers and riders. Any voluntary tip to support Teal Wheels is not payment for a ride and does not create a transportation contract. Participants may privately agree to share reasonable out-of-pocket trip costs as described in these Terms.
Accounts and approval
You must be 18 or older to create an account, and every adult rider needs their own account. Teal Wheels is for adults: minors cannot create accounts, and arranging rides for minors is not supported at this time.
Participation requires a confirmed email, a profile name and photo, acceptance of these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Code of Conduct, and a risk acknowledgment, and manual account approval. This is an access decision, not identity, safety, criminal-background, or driving verification.
Rides and contact information
Drivers may add a screenshot of a ticket for the selected game, or of a season ticket, and a ride may be posted without one. When a driver adds one, Teal Wheels may look at it, and a ticket mark on a ride or profile means only that. It does not confirm that the driver will attend the game, who they are, or that they are safe to ride with.
Before posting a ride, drivers affirm that they are legally licensed, have permission to use the vehicle, maintain legally required insurance, and will follow traffic laws. Teal Wheels does not collect or verify these facts.
Drivers may not charge a fare or profit from a ride. Participants may privately agree to share reasonable out-of-pocket trip costs, such as fuel, tolls, or parking. Any contribution must be voluntary and must not be required to request or accept a seat. Drivers are responsible for confirming that their insurance permits any such arrangement. Teal Wheels does not set, collect, process, or enforce payments.
Messages are visible to the participants in the conversation. Teal Wheels may review messages when responding to a report, investigating misuse, or protecting the service. If a driver cancels a trip or ride, or either person cancels a request, the people affected are notified and access to ride-specific contact details and the license plate ends. Ending access cannot undo information a participant has already viewed or copied.
A rider and a driver can message each other before a seat is requested and while a request is pending. Before acceptance, messages must not include direct contact details. After a driver accepts a rider, the app may automatically share the contact information provided by the participants to coordinate the trip. License plates are shown only to participants eligible to identify the accepted vehicle at pickup.
After a trip, we ask both people whether it happened, and invite a thumbs up or down and an optional private note about the other person. Only Teal Wheels sees ratings and notes; other members see only how many trips both people confirmed. We keep this feedback, may use it to follow up with the people involved, and it never guarantees that anyone is safe to ride with.
Conduct and reports
Harassment, discrimination, threats, unsafe or impaired driving, sexual misconduct, doxxing, unauthorized recording, impersonation, and commercial transportation are prohibited. Users can report or block another user. Teal Wheels may suspend or remove access while reviewing a credible report, but it is not an emergency service. Call 911 for immediate danger. Members also agree to our Code of Conduct.
Risk, responsibility, and limitations
Teal Wheels does not conduct background checks, verify identity, inspect vehicles, review driving records, or verify auto insurance. Profile review, email confirmation, badges, and other account information do not guarantee that anyone is safe, trustworthy, licensed, insured, or fit to drive. Drivers and riders independently decide whether to offer, request, accept, or complete a ride and are responsible for their own choices and precautions.
Carpooling involves risks including collisions, injury, death, property damage, vehicle problems, cancellations, theft, harassment, and misconduct by other participants. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree that Teal Wheels and the people who run it are not responsible for the acts or omissions of participants, the condition or operation of a vehicle, whether a ride occurs, or private communications and arrangements between participants.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Teal Wheels and the people who run it will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of the platform or a private ride. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
You agree to reimburse and hold harmless Teal Wheels and the people who run it from claims and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the platform, violation of these Terms or the Code of Conduct, unlawful conduct, or intentional or reckless misconduct. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from Teal Wheels' or Ryan Kirkpatrick's own conduct.
